In a game to mark the home team's centenary, Davies gave Mexborough an eighth minute lead. Ryan Nicholls replaced Steve Mulrain at Inside Left after thirty minutes but it was Marcus Philpott who equalized for Leeds seven minutes later. Patrick O'Connell had given Leeds the lead in the fiftieth minute before the visitors rang the changes. Stephen Hill replaced Alex Byrne at Right Half in the sixtieth minute, Steve Nicholson replaced Matthew Flanagan at Right Back in the sixty-fifth minute and Damian Holmes replaced Purdie at Outside Left in the sixty-eighth minute, before Iso Budimir made it 3-1 in the seventy-first minute.
